***HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS***

I am A 29 yr old male in pretty good shape and 2 years ago I injured my neck.  Thought nothing of it at first because initial pain got a little better within a couple days, but soon after my right arm began to go slightly numb at times.  Every week that went by my arm numbness and tingling got worse until it was my entire right arm from my neck all the way down to my fingertips (especially my last three digits).  I went to the chiropractor several times and he said my bones were out of place and had me wear a wrist brace for weeks , which did nothing.  Then went to family doctor who told me I definitely had Tendinitis and had me wear another type of arm brace for 6 weeks, which also did nothing to help.  Then I went to a orthopedic specialist and he took X rays and said they looked perfect.  So he had me wear a third type of brace on my arm/hand and take some kind of vitamins for 6 weeks  which again did absolutely nothing. He then told me I for sure had a pinched nerve in my neck so he sent me to a Neurologist.  Then I went to a neurologist who sent me to get an MRI which looked perfect he said.  So then I had A nerve Conduction Study done with the needles in the arms, which also came back perfect he said.  Then I went to a different Ortho Specialist and he Looked at the same MRI and said I had A Bulged Disc in my neck for sure, So he sent me to a Pain Management Doctor who gave me a series of pills for Inflammation and again did nothing.  So I went back and had A cervical Epidural Injection which didn't help either and nothing changed.......Anyway, 12 different doctors later several nerve block injections and other things and many miles from home we found a doctor who diagnosed me with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.  He said I had a narrowing between my clavicle and first rib.  I also had no pulse in my wrist at all when i put my arms above my head.  So after physical therapy and all else failed i had the rib resection surgery and i am recovering now ( 6 Weeks), still have some numbness now but hopefully that works, still early according to the doctor. The day after I had the Cervical Epidural I had suffered from extreme Back Pain! I Have never in my life ever had a bit of back pain until the exact day after i got the epidural in my neck.  The pain is not high, it is in my lower and mid back.  It is the sharpest pain I have ever felt and it will bring me to my knees, the only relief I get is when I lay flat on my back on the coach or bed and that still just cuts the pain in half. It almost feels like the pain fluctuates from the middle to the lower part of my back not at the same time.  Even the best pain meds only do so much, I haven't been able to lift my 1.5 year old daughter up in so long.  I have had more tests and MRI's done but they tell us they all come back clean.  I don't know what else to do.  It is hard for me to believe it was a coincidence that the day after I got the injection I started to feel the pain.  We have asked several doctors and noone has heard of this situation.  I have been to physical therapy, More chiropractor appts, and even a Acupuncturist who did something called chinese cupping on my back which was weird and didn't help at all.  If anyone has ever heard of this or experienced anything like this PLEASE help me out I am tired of living in Pain every single day, this is hard on my family and my bank account.  Sorry so long but just in case I wanted to tell the whole story........Thanks, Matt

Noone has mentioned anything about csf leak, not even sure what that is.  I have to go back and get another MRI for the fifth time next week I will mention it to the doctor though and see what he says.  thank you so much for the response.

Unfortunately your story is not completely foreign.  Have they checked you specifically for a csf leak. I went though something similar and a blood patch worked wonders. Hope this helps
