Headaches

Hi, I have been having headaches for more than year, have done mri 9 months ago, ct of the brain 2 months, angio resonance of the brain 4 months ago, which were all normal. I also measured my intracranial pressure 8 months ago which was 21 and high in proteins in the cerebroespinal fluid, but not remembering exactly how much. I have all this time many muscle problems in the trapezius, levator scapulae and others, that is tendinitis there and many contractures, but which are getting slowly better by now, but still not so well. I have reading problems, that is i dont read as fast as before, bad memory, and when reading loud not pronouncing words well. All doctors have said i have chronic tension headache, and i have headaches all day long, but they seem to get better as my muscles get better, but my reading not so well, my eyes being normal after tests (not papiledema either). These are all my symptoms, i would like to know if in this forum you know about them, and can offer some advice on these. I worry that i wont be able to read and think as good as before, or that i may have adquired dyslexia. Thank you for your help.

Hi!
High CSF proteins in injury, inflammation, bleed and tumor are pretty high and if the numbers were so high, your doctor would have been concerned. However, please anyways ask regarding this.
To treat memory loss, cognitive and reading problems, you have to find the cause first. If all brain related causes (transient ischemic attack, disorders of hypothalamus, dementia and multiple sclerosis, head injury etc) are ruled out then Vit B12 deficiency, chronic fatigue syndrome, sleep disorders (by sleep studies), depression, use of certain drugs, and certain types of seizures (where memory loss is the predominant symptom) should be investigated for.
Since you have a headache almost daily, what you have is in all probability not a simple migraine but a chronic daily headache (CDH). This can be the primary type—without any cause. One simple reason for daily headaches with nausea is compression of cervical spinal nerves. Another reason is TMJ, especially if the headache starts with chewing. The third reason could be severe acidity with or without GERD. The CDH could also be secondary to trauma, raised intracranial hypertension, high blood pressure, temporal arteritis etc. Hence all these need to be ruled out.  If the headache lasts for less than 4 hours then it could be a chronic cluster headache or a chronic paroxysmal hemicranias. If it lasts for more than 4 hours it could be chronic tension headache, chronic migraine or altered migraine or hemicranias continua. Indomethacin is the drug of choice in hemicranias continua. In fact the diagnosis is considered confirmed if a patient responds to Indomethacin. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please discuss these possibilities with your doctor once. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.

Many thanks for your answer, i forgot to tell that i have spasticity in my trapezius, and shoulder.I'm almost sure that the headache is caused by those contractures because the headache gets better as my muscles get better by phisiotherapy, but i still feel that i have cognitive problems.  I would like to know what method of diagnosis or imaging should i suggest to my doctor. I will ask my doctor about these conditions, many thanks again.
