Herniated disk C5/C6 - Dizzy migraines constant pain help! :(

I was diagnosed with a herniated disc at c5 c6 about 3 months ago confirmed by MRI. This was a work related injury. I have a high stress, high level of repetitive motion computer based job which caused the weakening then one day I reached above my head and have never felt such severe pain. Since that day my life has never been the same. I have been passed around by doctors and had to go through all the L and I stuff. I continued working in constant pain for three months but then my doctor took me off work a couple days ago because I was getting worse and worse. My right arm and hand are extremely weak and in pain all the time. My right hand goes numb and tingles and I have lost sensation. The numbness keeps me from sleep and my right foot has started going numb now as well. I saw a neurosurgeon who basically said have surgery or deal with it, acted like I was being dramatic and said take Advil and go back to work. I told him I would try to go back to work but was fearful because of my symptoms getting so much worse and he agreed to keep men off for a couple more months to give PT a chance. I had my first PT appt yesterday and was really excited because I was finally getting treatment after all this time. All she did was give me a brief hot rock massage but she basically said I was in really bad shape. My right shoulder blade is totally winged, my. Muscle that connects my neck to my shoulder looks like a small rock mountain growing out of my back. So when I woke up this morning I had the stay of a migraine. It has gotten worse and worse. I feel so sick to my stomach and now my ears just started ringing. It's really scaring me. Does anyone know what this means or how serious it is? My employer is pressuring me to return to work. Both my employer as the neurosurgeon didn't seem to think a job where you aren't lifting 80 lbs all day could cause an injury! Thank god my PT was the first one that had shown compassion or made me not feel crazy. My neck is also bent forward like a dang Neanderthal and she said this is caused from years of bending your neck to look at computer screens and/or looking down. I didn't even realize it. I thought I was standing straight until she showed me my side view picture. It was really shocking! I do not want surgery. I'm scared to death and am also a single mom with little kids trying to do it all on my own. No way could I take 8 weeks to recover. My life would not slow it. Will I ever to be able to do my job again? Will I ever be normal again and is this ear ringing dangerous? I am freaking out and feel so alone. :(

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems.  Winging of scapula could be secondary to pain and bad posture. Since you do not have actual loss of muscle strength, it is unlikely to be due to any muscle damage.
In all probability you suffer from cervical radiculopathy secondary to disc herniation, poor posture and repeated mouse clicking. You would benefit from physiotherapy, massage therapy, traction, spinal manipulation, correcting posture, occupation therapy (to help understand how you can do your job better with least damage) etc. You may need to take pain killers for a few days.
Please consult your doctor and physiotherapist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.

Thank you so much for your response.  I actually do have a great deal of loss of strength in my right arm, hand, and wrist.  My physical therapist took a number of measurements during my first appointment and I knew that my right arm and hand had become much weaker since the injury but I was shocked to find that when she had me squeeze the tool to measure grip strength I literally had none.  I couldn't even get it to register but the weirdest part was I felt as though I was squeezing quite hard. I have always had a strong right hand and am very right side dominant so my left is (was) quite weak in comparison but I have now had to start learning to use my left hand because I just have no strength or sensation on the right side.
