I had a mri done recently and I dont understand what the findings mean.

I am 49yr old male in fairly good health. The pain is almost unbearable. This is what it says
Well-defined 8 x 7 mm T2 hyperintense lesion in the left T6-T7 in the intercostal space. Another smaller lesion with similar appearance is seen in the left T7-T8 intercostal space. Findings may suggest incidental peripheral nerve sheath tumors. Other etiologies cannot be excluded. Consider 3 month follow-up MRI thoracic spine without and with contrast to ensure stability.

Have you called your neuro for results?

A nerve sheath tumor is really rare, so they are suggestion that there could be other causes for the lesion. Such as an autoimmune disease (lupus) or something like MS. Certainly contact the neuro who ordered to get his opinion. Without knowing the clinical background it’s hard to give context to the imaging diagnostic.
