Ilioinguinal or Iliohypogastric Nerve Damage from Scar Tissue after Surgery

Hello,  I'm trying to find out more information from others who are going through ilioinguinal/iliohypogastric nerve damage or neuralgia.  I've been suffering from groin pain and numbness of my right leg after an ovarian egg retrieval.  This was my third egg retrieval as an egg donor.  Somehow during this last retrieval nerves were damaged most likely due to scar tissue being built up or the needle damaging the nerves.  I've had ultrasounds and MRIs to my pelvis/hip that ruled out any broken bones or reproductive issues from the donation.  The hip arthrogram actually made my pain worse. I've been to two pain management doctors who have not been unable to reduce my pain.  I've been on Lyrica, Gabapetin and Cymbalta. I had side effects to all three and discontinued use this past month.  I couldn't stand the Lyrica weight gain, the depression from the Gabapentin or the low libido from Cymbalta. None seemed to help my groin pain but Lyrica and Gabapentin did seem to alleviate the leg numbness.  Two weeks ago I had to nerve blocks to my iliohypogastric nerves near my groin.  The blocks only felt fine for one day then they made the pain worse and increased the pins and needles feeling in my hips and lower back. Kind of reaching around the were the nerves originate in the spine. I'm really not sure where to go from here.  I'm afraid to do more nerve blocks because they might worsen my pain.

I've been looking into nerve severing or nerve ablation. Has anyone had these type of procedures?  Was it a success or did it cause more pain?  Please let me know if you have any suggestions to help ease the pain and if you have suggestions for specialists/surgeons/hospitals. As the days go by it really hurts knowing that the pain may last forever and it scares me that it has gotten worse.  I'm hoping to find some solution.
