Just found out that my daughter has a underdeveloped brain.

Today I took my daughter to the hospital to have an MRI scan. They were trying to figure out why she was having headaches. They did a CT scan and an MRI. The scans showed that she Chronic Sinus Infection. Well they found something else in the MRI scan. She has an underdeveloped brain that controls her speech, eating, etc.
A little history about my daughter. I had her at 24 weeks. She only weighed 1lb.9oz at birth. She was in the NICU for 85 days. She has an eye disease called ROP. She has had 6 eye surgeries. She is developmentally delayed.
Ever since she has been born she has had all these problems with eating, she just can't seem to get the concept to chew. She has had therapy for speech and she can't talk unless you have her repeat what you want her to say. She is 7 years old and she still takes a sippy cup. All she wants to eat is the sippy cup with whole milk. Trying to get her to eat is a battle every single time. She is in therapy at the moment for OT, PT, and ST. She also has Sensory problems.
My question is, once we visit the nuerologist and he runs all the tests, is there something really they can do to help that part of her brain that is underdeveloped?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. The various complications associated with prematurity are due to underdevelopment of organ systems like respiratory distress syndrome, moderate bleeding in the brain, severe bleeding in brain, chronic lung disease, inflammation of death or part of the GI tract, general infection, retinopathy of prematurity etc. the brain complication of underdevelopment of the speech and feeding area has a guarded prognosis. You need to consult a pediatric neurologist for further information appropriate in your case after examining your daughter. Take care.
