Left leg twitching

Hi All -- for the past three weeks or so, I've had this twitch in my left toe. Now the twitching has spread to my calf and thigh in that leg, and it's twitching pretty consistently. I have no other neurological symptoms such as numbness or muscle weakness in that leg, or anywhere else. I occasionally have a pins and needles sensation, but it's not limited to my left leg -- I get it everywhere.

I made an appointment with a neurologist this Friday. I am getting so worried this may be something serious and I can't stop thinking about this :(.

I'm sure this is scary, but there are a number of things that could be causing this, from the not serious - a pinched nerve - to the more serious. It could be a nutritional deficiency, even.

You don't really describe if it feels muscular or not, but I'm including this, just in case - https://www.healthline.com/health/muscle-twitching#diagnosis

http://web.alsa.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ALSA_Ask_April2013 - this has an excellent explanation of fasciculations, or muscle twitching. It may help, even if what you are experiencing isn't exactly muscle twitching.

Let us know what the neuro says. When you go, have everything ready - a timeline as exact as you can be, a really good description of it, and if you can see it happening, some videos of it happening in case it doesn't happen in the office.

Thank you so much for your kind response, Emily. Yes, these are all muscle twitches. So strange...
I'm sure it feels really strange, and if it were happening to me, I'd be wondering about every possible cause, too.

Chances of it being not-serious are much greater than it being serious. I don't know how much that helps, but try to hang on to that until Friday. Also, you may not know the answer on Friday, if the doctor orders testing.

Let us know what happens, and I hope you get some good info on Friday, even if no absolute results. :)
