Lumbar puncture side effects

I had a diagnostic lumbar puncture 2 days ago.I lay still for four hours and felt fine. My head began to hurt on the way to the car. It is now progressively getting worse. I cannot sit or stand without being in a huge amount of pain.My neck and arms also hurt.I realise these are side effects but would love some reassurance that I will be back to normal.I am off work which is awful for me as i have just had a new class of three and four year olds who are trying to settle in.I am drinking lots of water and caffeine and the puncture area looks to be healing fine x

Headache after an LP can last up to 2 weeks, however, it's important to see a doctor ASAP if there's no improvement after 3 days, because of a considerable risk of haematoma
