Lupus titre 1:160 being referred to a rheumotologist

Hi There,
I have posted several times with no responses but I just got a call from my DR who did a bunch of labs and the test for Lupus came back 1:160 which I believe she said is or could mean positive but slightly positive. She said this is not her expertise and that she does believe there is something going on in my immune system, its not in my head !!!
Im not sure if anyone has any input into these numbers.

I am relieved in some respects as when I left my treatment center and followed up with a very young Dr who was very ignorant with me, and told me with my increased pain from exercise this " No pain, no gain."  my sincere belief is this, since in my twenties when I had this first attack and there was no explanation at that time, I got labeled. What I went through was horid, prickling, tingling, burning sensations day in and day out for months, it was a very slow gradual relief of these symptoms that would go on all day.  I was judged than as having anxiety - HA- Any normal human being experiencing those sensations would have anxiety when they are told its just "migraine" ... uggghhhh

Anyway, I dont want to be sick, but for years I knew there was something wrong with me & to hear my new Dr. say " "This is not all in your head, we just dont know what to call this yet" ..

My ANA screen came up 1:160 which is a slight positive for autoimmune. you probably need to see an immunologist or rheumtologist for further testing and to get a good history of your symptoms to see which it may or may not be. Other than the ANA i tested negative for everything else but have all the signs and symptomsof sjogren's syndrome which is what i have been diagnosed with. Im lucky i have a good immunologist who will treat symptoms and not treat blood work as gospel. Autoimmune diseases are tricky to figure out cause they show different in different people. I belong to an online sjogren's community an none of us have exactly the same symtpoms. Definately keep searching and dont let the docs put you off. Yes you are anxious cause you dont know what the heck is going on. Its nt the anxiety causing the problem its the other way around.
Goodluck with it

There are websites devoted to Lupus and its symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, and I also would go to another doctor who is better equipped to treat you for it.  Diagnosing it is tricky, so that's how come there's some hesitation from the docs.  Also, at this website, you can do a search for Lupus, so you can read what all everybody else has to say about it, by going to the upper right-hand corner of this page, and typing that word in the search rectangle, and a bunch of posts will come up...also when they come up, notice which "department" those people are posting in, and you can direct your questions there for a better response.  Lots of questions get asked here in neurology and some don't get answered because people don't know enough about it to comment.
