fell on my butt - slammed head off frozen ground

Hello,
Pulled a real good one on Jan. 22..running late for work, took a short cut through the snow covered yard-slight 1.5 ft incline onto sidewalk. Slid down incline..both feet went out from under me ..went down on my butt and my head slammed back and hit the frozen yard..did not pass out.

Had a good headache/pressure feeling for about 3 days constant and nausea 2 afterrnoons in a row..headaches subsiding now, but several times a day have sharp pains in upper left part of head..worse when i'm laying down.. In the last week 2or 3 instances of vertigo..mainly when laying down.

Just finished a 10 day supply of amoxicillan for a sinus infection..might explain the vertigo..have had benign positional vertigo before.

Went to GP on the 24th..no concussion..advised tylenol.

Not sure whether to schedule another appt....the pains in my head are pretty bad (about 3x a day)

Any thoughts?

thanks
Jennifer

I'd say call your doctor and let them know that you're still having symptoms. They may want to see you again and/or order some tests to follow up on it.

Feel free to keep in touch if your CT is abnormal or you continue to have symptoms. I have a history of multiple concussions as well as a minor brain bleed from head injuries, all from falls. (I have two diseases that both have symptoms leading to high fall risk.) So yeah, I totally understand how difficult head injuries can be. I only pop in to the Neuro forum here and there, so you may want to send me a private message to get a hold of me. (Hover over my username "Heiferly" in blue, and click where it says "Send Message" in the box that pops up.)

Best,
Heiferly.

thanks for your reply..had an appt this p.m.-- exam was routine ..pulse was a little low at 52..nurse asked if that was normal..told him no one had ever mentioned it...i 4got to say something to the doc.
doc said if it would ease me & my families mind they could do a ct scan.  i said yes..especially cause my mom's mom & my mom's uncle both died shortly after head trauma from a fall.
my ct is on wed afternoon.

thanks so much for your advice..i really appreciate it!  :0)
