About 10 weeks ago I noticed small, rapid twitches in my calf but didn't think much of it since I could see them but couldn't feel them. About 4 weeks later I started experiencing crawling sensations all over and went to my GP. He offhand asked if I've been experiencing twitching. Over the course of that week it got significantly worse and I actually started feeling it in both legs. Now I experience it all over my lower legs (but mostly calves) and occasionally arms and face too. It's completely pain free but incredibly annoying since it never stops. Intense exercise seems to make it much worse for up to 24 hours. I am carbamazepine to see if it helps but so far it has had no effect. Blood tests and EMG were clear other than slightly elevated thyroid function and slightly low Vit B1.
I'm a 32 year old male, very athletic with no signs of spinal damage (but no MRI done). Could this be BFS and if so, can it develop so quickly and what can help to reduce the twitches?
