Mild Volume Loss with Deep white matter disease...what does this mean?

I had an MRI done last year and the results were not explained clearly by my PCP. This sounds bad considering the results came back with a disease, which can never be good. My Dr. didn't seem to be alerted by the results, but she's not a Neurologist and I'm not convinced that I'm okay. I feel like she's not being honest with me.

Hi

MRI as an investigative modality, which in correlation with the clinical signs and symptoms, is an ideal tool for early diagnosis and management of several white matter diseases of brain and spinal cord.

The most noted among them are multiple sclerosis, infections, toxic causes, Alzheimer’s disease, periventricular leukomalacia and leukodystrophies and other neurodegenerative diseases.

The details given by you are insufficient to know what you might be suffering from exactly as many patient-related factors such as age, sex, past medical history as well as clinical symptoms and other MRI details are required to be known for making a proper diagnosis.

You should probably get in touch with your doctor to know the details.

Take care.

Geeez, that does not sound good.  Please go see another doctor!  And bring your MRI with you.  What area of the body was the MRI performed?
