Neurological, Gastro Link?

For months been having digestive problems. Some of my problems have apparently been caused by food intolerances and I am definitely a lot better for having cut out wheat and dairy. Recently tho I have developed frequent ectopic beats and feel a bit strange (head) and anxiety sometimes during these episodes. Could this be anything to do with the vagus nerve does anyone know, or what can be done to help. Wondered if I might be short of specific minerals etc due to digestive probs. My doc is going to send me to a gastroenterologist regarding the food intolerances as I have lost approx 1stone in weight and originally only weighed in at around 8st. Is this the correct specialist or is there perhaps some kind of link between the gut problems, food intolerances, vagus nerve?
Any help or advice much appreciated.

Hi, Vagus nerve supplies in many major organs like heart, lungs, stomach, palate, esophagus etc. Therefore, if vague nerve damage, this can cause bradycardia( decreases heart rate) ,arrhythmia,  voice changes, difficulty in swallowing, gag reflex, constipation and incontinence but its damage does not cause dehydration. However, vagus nerve effect can be amplified by dehydration (though dehydration may originate due to any gastrointestinal illness through vomiting or diarrhea etc.). In addition, vagus nerve stimulation by dehydration can lead to decrease in heart rate/pressure and then fainting. If this damage is confirmed by a neurologist, then vagus nerve stimulation and blocking therapy can be two forms of treatments available for vagus nerve damage and they can be utilized as per the requirement of the case. Surgical option (vagotomy) can be kept reserved in severe cases. Hope this helps.
