Neurologist telling me to ask PCP to fill my scripts

I have seen a neurologist for about two years. Recently, he has told me to have my PCP fill my Lyrica. PCP will not. This has cost me money, because I had to schedule appointments with PCP to discuss this. I don't understand why the doctors just don't communicate with one another. This has also caused me to miss time from work? I fear I will lose the one medication that helps my neuropathy. PCP sent me to a 2nd neurologist for a 2nd opinion. That 2nd neurologist made me feel uncomfortable. Live in a rural area; very few options.
