Hi, I am 30 year old male who is HIV positive (good CD4 and undetectable viral load) with no previous history of health issues. About a year ago, I noticed that I started to develop a weird muscular twitch that happened any time of the day without my conscious control. No matter if I am eating, sleeping, reading, talking, walking, etc-- this twitch which I would describe as something like a "hypnic jerk" involves my whole body but generally my arms and legs. It has been a year since I first noticed it and it has only increased in the number and intensity. In fact, it has gotten so bad that I have knocked things over in my home due to it and broke them. Furthermore, my partner said something about it without me ever mentioning it to him so its starting to become obviously different in my life as well as a marked fogginess/forgetfulness I have been displaying. It does not hurt but I read some pretty terrible things online concerning motor neuron diseases and I want to know if this is something I should be concerned with or take to a doctor? I am now having these twitches throughout the day whereas in my 29 years of life can not remember having these except a few times. Any info on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
