Numbness and Tingling in Head

Hi!  I was in a car crash in May 2013 and got whiplash, I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, they did tests and said I was ok but noticed that I had 2 fused vertebrae from a previous car crash about 10 years before.

Ever since this recent crash I've had nerve problems, from the top of my head all the way down to my hips hurt, then turned into a kind of 'itchy' feeling for a week and then into 'pins and needles'.  I now only get the pins and needles in my head but only on one side of my head.  The left side of my head, and the rear part of the top of my head, gets pins and needles but the right side of the back of my head feels nothing.  If I touch that side of my head I can feel it like normal, but when the tingling comes that entire side of my head remains 'numb' and feels no tingling.  I've also found that when I got reflexology done on my left foot I had no sensation in the big toe area - and in Reflexology they say that this part relates to your head as well.  I can sense that someone is touching my foot but it feels distant and numb, like it's happening to someone else.

Is it normal for my head to feel like this, half 'numb' half tingly?  If so, how long would it take to heal and go back to normal?

Thank you so much for your time!
Kerry :)

Hi Kerry!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. No, it is not normal. You will need a MRI or CT scan of the neck to see if there is some problem. Also, if nothing is caught, you may need an EMG/NCV study. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
