PLEASE HELP- progressive left side paralysis

Previously in April i wrote

Since last post, spinal arthritis has been 'diagnosed' from an upper back MRI. BUT....!

Now her left arm is paralyzed, the physiotherapist and GP (MD) have said she must see a Pain consultant because she has not slept for more than 2 hours since JANUARY because of the pain. She has coldness, burning and / or searing pain in the left arm. My mother has also lost 25lb in 2 months but is basically immobile now due to the pain. Her face remains drooped on the left. She has been prescribed co-codamol, amitriptyline, diclofenac...
She cannot work, drive... my mother cannot use her left hand, its certainly weaker than the right, and she has no firm grip. A neck scan has been scheduled, this will be in a few weeks (if we are lucky...)

I am seriously concerned, if this speaks out to anyone who recognises these symptoms, PLEASE let me know

kind regards

KR

sorry - this is what i previously wrote in April 2010
...
My mother saw a physiotherapist for a pain in her upper left (right facing her, heart side) back having been referred by her GP who thought it was related to sitting at a desk all day. He said the symptoms tied up with the area she was getting the pain in, numbness in the left arm, pain in the armpit, pins and needles, and worryingly pain in the chest on the left side. After treatment - manipulation, massage etc, her left eyelid now droops, and the pain is chronic. The GP has referred her for a below neck scan and prescribed Tramadol which gives her migraines.
Is this a nerve problem, spinal, or something sinister elsewhere?
