Pain after lumber puncture

Hi all.Just wondering if any one has had pain in their backs, where lumber punctures took place, weeks later? I had mine on 28th April, it took four attempts with no local anaesthetic. I have a low, dragging pain, which gets worse the longer I am standing. Thanks! Cath278

The cerebrospinal fluid is circulated in the ventricles of the brain and the space in the spinal cord. Whenever you draw some CSF for examination or for therapeutic reason you have pressure difference and which will result in pain and throbbing headache. It will subside in some days and till the CSF flow normalises and do not worry about this. If it bothers you too much visit a neurologist. Take care and use all asceptic measures so that no infections spreads inside!
