Hi, the history of deep vein thrombosis is quite a concern. Pain in calf could be due to thrombosis, Doppler ultrasound can rule it out. You should quit smoking too as it causes vascular insufficiency. Are you having swelling in leg too?
Try anti inflammatory drugs along with hot compressions for a week or so. Keep leg elevated while sleeping (put pillow under leg). This can relieve superficial vein thrombosis but not deep one.

I'm no dr but look up Hughes syndrome[Antiphospholipid Syndrome], on the internet.If it rings any bells go to your GP and ask him for a blood test for it.I know you mentioned you had blood tests but i don't think they always test for Hughes.
