Questions regarding Acdf post surgery

Hello ,I am currently 5 months post acdf c5-c6 .immediately following surgery I immediately developed right sided symptoms (pain, tingling,)
Which were never present before I had left sided arm and neck pain . . I inquired to the neurosurgeon and he said it was normal which seems reasonable. The following weeks and couple months the pain persisted and was much worse than prior to my surgery. About month 3 I started having muscle spasms in my shoulders, neck and upper back areas which were not fun at all . I asked him about this and he told me it could not be related to my neck . I don’t feel that is accurate as I’ve never had anything like that before .I opted to have a mri done by a third party at my own cost.  The results seem to be worse than my mri before acdf  to summarize briefly before surgery  there was a mild indentation of the cord at one level the current one reads I have moderate flattening at 2 levels due to residual osteophytic Ridging , ion addition I have severe bilateral  foraminal narrowing at c4-t1,uncovertabral Joint hypertrophy,,facet arthRopathy,,and canal stenosis at c4-t1. I am not sure if I’m reading to far into this or if this is normal . I want to trust my dr as he keeps telling all is well but it just doesn’t feel that way to me. Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
