Recent diagnosis & more symptoms

To any doctor, I am a 26 year old woman who has recently been diagnosed with psuedotumor cerebri. I am still unsure how they have come to this conclusion other than the fact that I had an eye exam. However, I will explain from the beginning. About a year ago I started taking a medication for acne called Doxycycline. Four months after taking this medication I started having persistant migraines only on the left side of my head but they happed quite often through the day and almost every day for a while. I suspected the medicine to be the problem and I quite taking it and called my primary care Dr. He assured me it wasnt the medicine and to keep taking it. Started taking it again, migraines would come and go, sometimes staying for days at a time. I quite taking the medicine again for about a month and the migraines stopped. Then all of a sudden I started having these episodes with my eyes where my vision would go black for about 20-25 seconds and reappear. That's when I went to the eye Dr. She told me what she thought it was and referred me to a Neurologist. After asking some questons and talking with me, he tells me its psuedotumor cerebri, prescribes diamax and sends me on my way. I have been taking this medicine now for 3 days and after the second day I started noticing a new symptom...tingling in my heals and toes. Only one foot at a time but a few times a day. What does this mean? Ps: no history of diabeties or high blood pressure.

Hi. I am not familiar with your diagnosis, but I am familiar with Diamox. I have migraine headaches and was prescribed Diamox for headaches that occur near or around my menstrual cycle. On of the biggest side effects of Diamox is tingling in your hand and feet! It also will make carbonated beverages like soda or beer taste flat. Is that happening to you as well?

Aside from that, maybe fire your neurologist and find a new one that is willing to work with you and explain your situation to you. They are working for you, not the other way around and you are paying for a service and deserve to know what's going on with your body. Perhaps find a neurologist who specializes in ocular disorders. Is there a University near you with a medical center?
