Speech and balance

About three or so months ago I began having trouble remembering words in the middle of sentences.  I've always been really good with words (I'm a writer), and so it's somewhat unusual.  Since then things have gotten a bit worse - I've forgotten how to spell even simple words, and I make typos in most words.  As well as that I've had extreme fatigue, weakness in my hands, particularly my right one, and lose my balance quite often.  I can't stay upright if I move with my eyes closed, though standing still isn't so bad, just a bit of swaying.  My fingers shake sometimes, and I can feel a sort of internal vibration, but otherwise it's nothing noticeable to other people.

I'm normally very active and my mind is pretty sharp normally, so this is a little bit strange for me.  I'm 28 and have an occasional headache, but nothing frequent.

Hi,

If the neurological exam was within normal limits, then there is nothing serious to worry about. Little less stress and strain and as you said some more sleep will help you.
You can also try some breathing exercises and meditation.

Take care!

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.  I do tend to get around 8-9 hours of sleep each night.  I don't drink or smoke at all.  I'm 168 cm and 63kg (sorry, I don't know what that works out to in feet and pounds).  My doctor did a neurological exam and some blood tests, and they all seem normal.  It seems rather strange.  Maybe I could try getting a wee bit more sleep?

Hi,

How are you? It is possible that your symptoms are due to sleep deprivation and excessive fatigue.
Do you sleep for at least 8 hrs during the night?
If sleep and over work is not an issue, it is important that you get a neurological exam done to rule out organic causes like brain damage. Brain damage can occur due to stroke. Do you have any risk factor for stroke like high BP, obesity, smoking and alcoholism?
