Worried about Muscle twitches ?

Hi, I have had muscle twitches on and off for a few years however never went to the doctor about them until recently when over a month ago I got a twitch on my thigh muscle for a week or so and had an odd twitch in the groin area. A week or so later went on holidays and after a day of walking ...feeling pain in my legs had a massive muscle twitching attack. Muscles were twitching everywhere ~ face arms legs feet abdomen, upper back etc. Ive never had this before to this level. After coming home a week later whilst the twitches settled slightly I went to the doctor who did blood tests and all fine. He ordered an MRi brain scan. In a month I've only had one or two days with very few twitches. Last weekend drank alcohol and the day after the twitches were back in full force. I'm worried it is something serious? Any advice. I few months back I was told to take vitamin d but the last blood test showed my levels were fine.
