Strange tingling & goosebumps in one arm?

Hi, almost everyday and almost off and on all day I will experience a strange tingling sensation down my right arm and Goosebumps will appear straight after. The Goosebumps aren’t all over my arm; they are in weird little patches in different places on my arm. Every time this tingling and little Goosebumps are the bumps appear in the same areas every time. Sometimes I get this on my scalp and other places on my body, but it is mainly my right arm. I have been experiencing this odd sensation for about 5 months now, what could it possibly be? I don't have to do anything for it to happen, it doesn't happen when I’m emotional, it just happens all on it's own, in fact it just happened then!

Could someone please tell me what this could be?
I am a 20 yr old female
I am currently experiencing other neurological symptoms, and just about to see a neuro in 2 weeks.
Please help!
Thanks, Sammy.

These are neurological issues that are not likely to resolve with any intervention either medicinal or surgical. Unfortunately. I have had these types of sensation for over 15 years and no doctor has given me anything or suggested anything that has helped. If anything meds often make it worse. All test reveal no abnormality and docs are quick to say it's just anxiety and stress etc. I eat well, exercise, work from home, do breathing and try to stay peaceful in general—has not effect at all. Come out of the blue. The body is a complex thing and some folks just drew the short genetic straw. Do whatever you can to feel better and avoid stuff that seems to bring on the symptoms. There is little in the way of relief or a final/absolute solution. It's typically an array of physiological things that can causer the "spells" . It sucks, but it always passes. Sure, it leaves you exhausted and depressed and even more anxious, but it does eventually pass. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If I have not found any solution after 15+ years I cannot see not all getting resolved or better as my body ages. I am 40, so not ancient, but I have struggled with many odd arrays of tingling, spasms, shocks, odd sensations, pains, tremors and dread/terror/odd breathing/chest pain and discomfort etc etc since I was around 21. It's a sick cycle too because it makes you hyper-vigilant and overly aware of your body and everything throws you off. Needless to say hypochondria ensues. People who do not suffer in this way have NO WAY of relating to you. So unless you see a doctor who experiences some or all of these symptoms, they are likely to just throw meds at you. No offense to the medical industry but it's true. They get exasperated trying to "figure you out". I would too.

I have the same exact symptoms, except on bottom half of left arm and left side of my scalp. Sometimes I have noticed it happens more times throughout the day when I am more stressed than usual. The first time this happened was about a year ago. I do not take birth control or eat fish regularly. Have a generally healthy diet. Did anyone find any answers about this?

Did you ever find anything out? I landed here due to researching the same issue. I have the random goosebumps patches on my left arm throughout the whole day. Nothing specific seems to provoke it. I have tingling extremities often as well...not sure if that is linked or not.

Hi everyone,
I am a 43 year old female and I have just started having the same experience.  It has been happening in my right arm around the elbow and started five days ago.  I thought it was an allergic reaction to something I ate but it continues to be happening.  I do not eat alot of fish but this week I did have some canned tuna.  I'm wondering if it had something to do with my shingles I got 6 years ago.  Please let me know what comes up.

I have a couple questions to everyone that experience patchy goosebumps on either arm or leg or scalp. It would really be very helpful if you could answer them for me.
1. Do you have any silver fillings in your teeth?
2. Do you regularly eat fish or do you eat large fish (as in: large species) in any form (raw/cooked)
3. Does 15% or more of your diet contain high fructose corn syrup?
4. How long have you been aware of the patchy goosebumps appearing on your body?

Many thanks,
S.A.P.

1-3 are no for me. I’ve been experiencing it for a few days now. I’m an extremely sleep deprived mom of a 5 month old with step kids every other week.

I have been suffering with dizzniness, headaches and have been off balance for about 6months. The patchy goosebumps have started this weekend. I also suffered with numb leg from knee down after a 13 hour flight 5months ago. Turned out not to be dvt, but wondered if all these had any connection. Its all happening on my left side....really worried!

Can anyone advise/help me out? I'm going to see a doctor today. x

Hi Sammy -

I'm curious to hear what the doctor said. I landed here because I did a google search for "patchy goosebumps". I'm experiencing the same thing, except on my leg! Very weird!!

Please let me know....thanks!

Sammy, did you ever figure out what was going on?  I'm having the same symptoms -- also in my right arm, around my elbow.
