The nerve of ear being pulled followed by pain

Hello.
I would like to seek an advice for a friend of mine. He is 30 years old and has been suffering from migraine.. But lately he has been complaining of tension in the nerve of his ear ,he says it feels like the nerves of the ear is being pulled which is followed by acute pain..  And it doesnt happens constantly.. It is like once in a month or once in two months.. He has consulted many doctors, but none of them have been able to guide us.. Is it due to the migraine ??i would really be grateful, if i would be guided by the expert opinions, because this is worrying us...
