Hi,

I can understand your frustration. There is a novel therapy which is now being used in patients with stroke induced paralysis which is known as Mirror therapy.
“A simple mirror, set up in the middle of the patient's body so that it appears to him that
his affected limb moves at the same time as his healthy limb: with this novel therapy limbs paralyzed by stroke more quickly regain mobility.”

Alternate therapy like acupuncture has also shown good results.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
Paralysis can occur due to stroke in which blood clots block the blood vessels in brain. In most cases patients have to learn to live with their paralysis. Physical therapy helps in strengthening of muscles and improves productivity. Adaptive devices like wheel chairs and walkers also help in getting around.
According to a recent survey, patients with paralysis live as long as the rest of the population.
Please continue with physical therapy under a trained instructor, it will help in improving the functioning of muscles.
Hope this helps!
