Hello,
Thank-you for responding to my concerns. I do have a paternal uncle with MS. I was told that due to a lack of lesions on my MRI's, and the disappearance of the oligoclonal bands, that I was finally cleared from MS. What investigations are used to diagnose brainstem encephalitis? Is it possible to keep on having exacerbations?
Hello.
Your symptoms are quite varied and the CSF picture suggests a demyelinating disorders, possibly MS. Please consult your Neurologist about this possibility. But keep in mind, there is no definitive test to diagnose MS. It is diagnosed when all other diagnoses are rule out. The plan should be to investigate further to see if it is in fact brainstem encephalitis.
Do you have a family history of MS ?
Regards
Hi. My husband has been undiagnosed for 10 years. He has severe right sided eye and neck pain (believed neurological), lack of sensation in both arms and legs "boot and glove" low B12 (recently discovered), muscular/skeletal pain as well. He was seen by a really bad neurologist who didn't do anything useful to investigate his troubles and we are trying to get another to have a look at him. What is a neurogenic bladder?
