Pelizaeus-Merzbacher brain sclerosis is a rare inherited disorder that affects the central nervous system (CNS). It seems to be associated with abnormalities of the white matter in the brain.

Symptoms include impaired coordination, involuntary muscle spasms, and slow, stiff movements of the legs. It can also include delays in reaching developmental milestones and the progressive deterioration of intellectual function.
