Hi Ellie924
I also had a disc cervical dis prolapse at C6-C7 which affected my right arm, fingers .I had severe pain in my neck/back.. The doctor had suggested surgery. I opted for a traditional Unani treatment of massage and therapy..This has helped a lot and my compression of the nerve root has been released to a great extent..I am still undergoing treatment for that..For details, you can email me at ***@****

Thank you for your question. It will be best that you consult a neurologist who would like to prescribe pain-killers, steroid and muscle relaxants in order to provide you symptomatic relief in your disc prolapse condition. Other treatments could be cervical orthosis such as a soft cervical collar/stiffer neck brace to restrict neck movement. In addition, the doctor may also suggest cervical traction or surgical option like discectomy, if condition is severe. Hope this helps.
