Why would foam at the mouth and nose and have no memory of the incident occur?

My daughter and I were in the car when we were in a heated and stressful argument.  I know that she suffers from PTSD and depression/anxiety disorder.  She has had some "episodes" of flashbacks triggered by certain words, phrases, and stress.  However, this was the first time that she became so agitated that she stiffened, eyes rolled back, foam spewed forth from her mouth and nose.  Just prior to these symptoms she was hyperventilating.  I called 911.  She had no memory of this episode.
