Writers Garp
I am suffering from Writers Garp for the past 8 years. Because of this I could not wrie properly. No control over pen and words written. Speed of writing also affected to a great extent. Extremely difficult to complete the writing task within a stipulated time frame allotted. Kindly advice the tretment.

Thank you for your question. Your symptoms could be due to writer's cramp that is due to involuntary muscle contraction called dystonia. This may be affected by writing specific letters, the position of the hand, and is often relieved when you stop writing. It is difficult to find any specific cause for writer's cramp, however Botox injections may be some help to prevent the contraction from occurring. I have consulted a neurologist and he has prescribed Beta Cap - TR 80 Mg(1 -- 0-- 0) and Rivotril 0.5 Mg(1 -- 1 -- 1).He has also hinted drousiness and observed that prolonged intake of above medicine is preferabiliy avoided . Is there any side effect. Any alternative mechanism. Kindly advise
