arachnoid cyst in spine

I have tingling to stabbing pain in my feet and near nightly foot cramps, itching and tingling in hands, as well as midback pain.  MRI shows an atypical appear arachnoid cyst from T5-T7.  Is there any effective treatment other than surgery?  I fear being in more pain after the surgery, but I don't want to deal with this by popping pills either!

I have a subarachnoid cyst and am probably facing surgery.  How long did it take you to recover?  Do you work outside the home and if so, how long before you could go back to work?  I know my experience might be a bit different from yours, but I don't see the neurosurgeon for a couple weeks and am trying to get all the information I can.

hi kay

i have had a removal of cyst 2008, it was 4.1cms long, i had it removed, i was in abit of pain, for a couple of week, wasnt able to lift kids, my husband took 8wks off work to look after me,
there is no cure apart from surgery, i was told that within a yr i would be paralised if i didnt have it removed,

i just had more MRIs done it show that i now have another cyst, in T5, my last cyst was in T7 T8 T9

i hope that helps, but you do get though it, the pain meds are really good
