low muscle tone

I have a three 1/2 month old who consumes about 8-10 ounces of formula a day; each feeding taking at least 45 minutes. She has extreme difficulty with the suck/swallow/breathe coordination.  I have taken her to sp&l evaluators, she gets O.T. and no one has found anything wrong until I took her to a cranio-sacral therapist.  She immediately said she was concerned about her overall muscle tone and when she felt her head she said something wasn't quite "firing right" in her brain.  Should I take her to a neurologist?  Everything else is developmently appropriate.  She smiles, laughs, and coos.  She is overall a happy baby.  She has had one ear infection, but other than that she is healthy.  She is slowly gaining weight; very slowly and has plenty of wet diapers so no one is concerned with nutirition.  What would a neurologist look at and would it be worth putting her through more testing if no dr. has been concerned?

HI.

My comment is based on the description in this post. It may not be interpreted as a diagnosis.

Looks like we are dealing with "Floppy Infant Sundrome". Seizures are a possibility. Hence an EEG should be done to, alongwith a thorough examination by the Paediatric Neurologist.

Hope the best for the little one.

Hi,
Really concerned about the  baby.
Neurologist is definitely required probably pediatric neurologist would be better.
He would evaluate the child for the low muscle tone and does the child have any intracranial pathology.
May be the child has to undergo some investigation which may range from basic investigations to scans.
Fix up an appointment as early as possible.
