burning throat and skin sensatons, tremor

Hi,
I am still trying to find out why i have severe burning pain in my hands, feet, legs, arms, face and even in my ears and throat area.  I also have some sort of buzzing, internal tremor with it, muscle cramping and periodic limb movement mostly in toes and fingers,  i have had some strange shock like sensations down my spine and muscle weakness when this all began after an accident... but no burning...the burning appeared later...  The pain can be disabling...sometimes with the burning my skin gets shiny red and blotchy, otherwise, there are no sores.  I think i have every test done to determine what this is, Anas, full hormone panels, toxicities, infections, blood work, sugar tests, emgs-you name it except NO ONE CAN!...My neurologist conducted a Qsart, emg, nerve biopsy and Neck MRI...the Qsart showed an indication of  non length dependent small fiber neuropathy, but the biopsy of my nerves were fine!...Emg showed a SLIGHT peripheral neuropathy of my peroneal nerves in both legs...no upper emg...yet.

i am 53 years old and and going through menopause...i am not allowed HRT because of BRAC2 defect..i am told by OBGYN that my problem is too severe to be menopausal...but right now i am thinking it is or perhaps RSD. I am on celexa, neurontin, lidocaine patches, but my pain breaks through...the pain comes and goes which is weird...help someone...please!

I agree with you and disagree with the Meno 'expert' as does my neuro...the neuro thinks it''s PN and erythromelagia and that the erythro was brought on by meno hormone changes...however, this started with a bad accident...not the burning pain, but wierd stuff...the neuro called it Lhermitte's and blamed my neck injury on it.  another wierd thing was i was hypothermic when the burning started...for some reason my body tempeture went way down to like 94...for awhile for no freakin reason.
she tried to put me on 'dopomax' for wt. issues but i can't take it cause i'm asthmatic so i am still fat...
there is good news...i did lose 2 lbs despite the meds by exercise/diet ( insane exercise and little food) don't know how healthy it is to reduce food intake that low...
i hope you are over your troubles and feeling much better.
thanks

Yes, I have gained a little weight after my hyster at 36 and basically was told my hormone issue and the weight gain had nothing to do with one another.  Yeah, right; NOT.  Completely understand.

I read your post another time and you stated all this started up after an accident.  I know RSD has been known to present post trauma/accident.  Has this possibility been ruled out?  RSD is now CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) Type I.  From what I have read, it is a "bear" to treat.

I can tell you for sure, the menopause is 1/2 of your woes.

B12 is actually a little too high ( because i swill vitamins i think)
D is OK
Female hormone panels show low estrogen/High FSH levels so definitely there as far as meno...(NO it doesn't help does it?)

The drugs and meno are making me fat which doesn't help, yet when i try to switch to something else pain is unbearable...

Vitamin B12 and D levels ok?  Thyroid panel ok?  No MRI of the brain/head? What was abnormal in regards to your female hormones panel?

What kind of accident where you involved in?

It definitely sounds like peripheral neuropathy; just what is causing it is the question.

I would get the upper emg too.

I cannot say this is all because of menopause, but I can say that menopause is not helping things.
