I have mild pain left side of neck at base of skull. Occasionally a sharp pain at this location. I have other cervical issues (c3/4 degeneration, c4/5 bulge) but c2 seems the most likely candidate for this pain and the second form of tinnitus which has developed at approx. the same time the neck pain started, which was about a year after hitting the back of my head hard on rising from a bent over position. I also have mild swallowing issues which started first, about 3 months after head knock. My tinnitus, which my ENT blows off, changes with head motion. My primary tinnitus, which I have had for years has also become much worse and is now aggravated when I clench my teeth or bite down hard. I have seen literature which indicates that neck injuries can cause a lot of symptoms, including tinnitus.
Any thoughts?
I am planning to try to get a nerve block at a couple of locations in my neck to see if I can confirm that the c2 nerve is the culprit.
