weakness, numbness, pain, bowl symtoms

my MRI showed cervical kyphosis, bulged disc c4-5 with stenosis, disc protrusion c6-7, disc signal reduced at all levels, and DDD.  I have weakness in my right arm always and my right leg sometimes with sharp pains.  I have pain constantly in the back of my head, neck, between shoulder blades and lower back and I have some bowl symptoms that are not normal for me, I really have to strain to go.  Lyrica is helping with about 50% of the pain, but not with the weakness.  I am 35 years old and very scared for my future, what is the progression of all of these things, I fell down some stairs over 10yrs ago and have done physio immediately following the fall, chiropratic off and on as problems arised, osteopath and massage as well.  What will stop this from getting worse, I don't want to lose the function of my arm!!!

You should see a Neurologist and have some nerve testing done.

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

I think your symptoms may be due to nerve irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because of cervical disc protrusion. This pain may be referred and perceived as occurring in the back of head & shoulders (as electric sensation)- LHERMITTES SIGN, weakness in arms, pain in chest, rather than just the neck. Other symptoms may include vertigo, nausea (dizziness) and stiffness. It will be best that you consult a neurologist who would like to prescribe Pain killers, steroid and muscle relaxants. Other treatments could be cervical orthosis such as a soft cervical collar or stiffer neck brace to restrict neck movement till you get complete recovery. In addition, cervical traction may also be suggested by the doctor, if condition is severe. Hope this helps.
