MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor.

Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.

Chikungunya virus is well-known to cause joint pain. In one study, the pain was continuous in 55.4% of participants 18 months after the initial infection. This pain can last for years.

Have you been seen by an infectious disease specialist? It may be worthwhile to be evaluated by one. You may also benefit from a referral to a chronic pain specialist (to optimize your medications and provide other medical options for the joint pain).

Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.

Thank you so much Doctor. Yes, I am in consultation with pain rehabilitation Doctor.
He told me he does not know what to give in place of tramadol.
Doctors in US have not seen patients like me. When I talked with my India Doctor - he told me the pain is due to chikungunya virusand he says it will go the way it came, but can not say when.

I greatly appreciate your help. Thank you so much.
