dystonia and sinusitis

I have thought that I have been suffering from sinusitis for about three years. Every now and then I have had slight pain in my left temple, cheek or ear region. There is swelling of the mucous membrane in my left maxillary sinus, and also some in my ethmoid sinus. I can hardly get any mucus from my sinuses. Early in December 2012 I got a new sympton, retro-orbital discomfort. An ENT doctor said that the retro-orbital pain may result from a virus infection, and the previously occurred left side temporal pain may result from my cervical dystonia. Then, at the end of Decemer I got a mild flu with slihtly running nose and some couching. Until now I still have discomfort behind my eyes at least in the evenings. Is this possibly a sign of ethmoid or sphenoid sinusitis? Can sinusitis cause swelling of ocular muscles or some other tssues behind eyes, and that is why I feel discomfort.? Eye movements are a little difficult, and objects close to my eyes when looking to a far distance cause discomfort. I also have some photofobia. Should I be worried about the eye symptoms?

I have tight cervical muscles in the right side of my neck, and my head is slightly leaned to the right. Could this cause my left side facial and temporal pain?

Could hyperparathyroidism cause eye symptoms? I have hypothyroidism, for which I am taking Thyroid Erfa.

I am sorry, I remembered the blood thinning agent wrongly, it is not coumarin but warfarin.

Thanks for your answer.

Now I have got atrial fibrillation and diarrhea. I must take coumrin. I still, sometimes, have discomfort behind my eyes. My Thyroid Erfa dose was decreased yesterday in order to see whether the eye symptioms will disappear. It is possible that I have norovirus, or the diarrhea results from the AF. I have also problems of ventilation, I think they are signs of hyperventilation. These are linked with the eye symptoms. Maybe I hold my breath due to the discomfort, and and then I begin yawning.

Hi there!

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include primary headaches, cranial neuralgias, sinusoidal inflammation, vascular issues, local causes related o the eye etc. Hyperparathyroidism is unlikely to be related to the eye symptoms. I would suggest getting this evaluated by an internist or an ophthalmologist at your earliest convenience for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
