enlarged ventricles at 24 week scan

I have read a few questions and replies already, but nothing was very specific.

I am 24 weeks + 2 days pregnant and have had 3 scans in the last few weeks. At 21+4 weeks the ventricles measured 9,5mm and they rescanned at 22+2 where they measures 8,5mm. Today when they scanned again the measurements went up to 9,5 - 9,7mm again. (all scans done by the same consultant)

They also said that the baby is measuring very small (around 3 weeks too small: ie around 21 weeks) They checked blood flow etc into the uterus and that all seemed fine. I have another daughter who was quite big (in the 5th centile) while this one is showing in the 15th - 20th centile.

Is there something I should be concerned about, or something I can do?

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

It appears like that it is a hydrocephalus condition in baby. In Hydrocephalus cerebrospinal fluid gets abnormally accumulated in the brain cavities.  This may cause increased intra cranial pressure leading to headache, convulsions, mental disability etc. It is constantly being formed in the ventricles of brain and drained out to circulatory system through special foramens and they can be enlarged. Hydrocephalus occurs due to either blockage of these foramens or overproduction of CSF. The treatment of hydrocephalus is surgical shunt placement. An alternative treatment for obstructive hydrocephalus is endoscopic third ventriculostomy but it may not be applicable to all patients depending upon internal anatomy of brain. Hope this information proved helpful.

EDITED TO SAY:

Baby is measuring in the 2-3rd centile, not 10th-15th!
