hip pain caused by needle hitting nerve

My wife was given a cortisone injection to reduce hip pain following a partial hip replacement.  The injection needle
apparently struck a nerve (possibly the femoral nerve), not once but twice.  She had immediate strong pain from her
groin to the knee.  Subsequently, she cannot put weight on her right leg without pain, has pain in her groin, and weakness in the right leg to the point of being on a walker.  The only treatment given for this is hydrocordone pills which are partly effective.  The injection accident happened about two months ago and she has been in almost constant pain from that time with no improvement.  If the femoral nerve is damaged, what treatment would help her?

I received a shot 7 yrs ago for bursitis. Cortisone. Since then I occasionally have Siatic pain in my hip and down my leg. Horrible. Ice helps. And hot epson salt baths. It usually lasts a week. Hope you are feeling better. It's no joke. The nurse was fired.

Hi Bloodhound1, what has happened to your wife as happened to me, since Nov 2012, and I have had CT scans, MRI, etc, and all they say is nothing is wrong, like your wife, I am in pain, can't weight bare, use a walker etc, and  i have been to a solicitor and they told me because i gave my consent to the hip injection then there is no case to answer on a no win no fee, but if i pay my solicitor £2500 then she will represent me in a case, funny that. i hope your good lady feels better soon, and i know how she feels
