MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello dear, welcome to the medhelp forum. Usually seen in young obese women, certain drugs can also be responsible like ketoprofen, oral contraceptives, corticosteroids, antibiotics, even levonorgestrol implants. You need to be examined for diseases like anemia and hypertension. Pregnancy is also a risk factor. Consult a neurologist for a complete examination, optic nerve function also needs to be checked. Try to control your weight if that’s a concern and your medication may need to be reviewed. You could be given a trial of diuretics to lower the intracranial pressure. If the headaches are resistant to medical therapy, you might need neurosurgical intervention like shunting the csf from lumbar canal or ventricles in the brain to the peritoneal cavity. The neurosurgeon’s judgment would be prudent. Hope this helps. You are welcome with further clarifications.
