lower left lobe mass

I hada pulminary embolisum in Jan of the lung. I went for a ct scan with contrast where then inject you and you get hot. I was told tolday the the radioligist reported that I have a large mass in left lobe. They are scheduling a ct biopsy for cancer. Isn't it strange that while in the hospital they never mentioned it. Also what are the chances that
it is cancer and if so what treatment would follow. Thank you

Hi there!

It would be difficult to comment on the chances of malignancy without knowing the details of the radiological appearance of the mass or the results of the biopsy. It would be best to wait till the biopsy report is made available, following which a management plan can be chalked out accordingly.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
