Hi there. Cervical canal stenosis usually causes nerve symptoms on one side characterized by slow pain, which is related to an activity or position. Either activity modification provides some relief or back surgery to relieve pressure on nerve root from foraminal stenosis. Surgery can be kept for a later date when the symptoms become very uncomfortable. Surgery includes anterior cervical discectomy and spine fusion where the disc is removed and disc space is distracted open to allow opening of the foramen and give the nerve root more room. A bone graft is left in the disc space to keep it distracted. It usually takes 2 to 6 weeks postoperatively to return to normal activities. Hope this helps. Take care.
I have the same problem and it is much severe. What does your neurosurgeon recommended you? I am trying to get an appointment with orthosurgeon. it is taking time.
Let me know your progress.
All the best
