neurology?

I have a constant mild tingling on the left side of my face and on my lips and tip of my tongue.  Sometimes I feel a tingling in my left fingers (not thumb or index), but not constant.  I've had this for several weeks, and I've had heart problems ruled out this fall when I had left jaw pain and strange sudden heartburn pain check out.  This Christmas I had a sudden strange bad toothache on the lower left side which a dentist in a town I was visiting said was probably TMJ since X-rays showed nothing.  I now have no heartburn, no toothache, but don't know if any of this is related or not.  Am confused and wondering.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello dear and welcome to the medhelp forum.  hypocalcemia can cause perioral numbness and paresthesiae, cardiomyopathy, spasms of hands and feet. Your facial symptoms could be due decreased serum calcium levels, TMJ disorders or multiple sclerosis. Early stages of MS can present as tingling or numbness, loss of balance, blurred vision and balance problems. Consult a neurologist for a detailed evaluation immediately. You would need certain blood tests to check for serum calcium, vitamin D and phosphate levels. Imaging studies of TMJ joint and MRI brain. Wishing you all the best for diagnosis. The treatment would depend on the diagnosis. Take care.

Please anny2, if you have found a resolution to your problem, post it here. I've been dealing with the same stuff. I don't know what is connected to what... it's so confusing.

Hi Anny,
Please get your calcium levels checked. Low calcium causes facial tingling, twitching, a feeling of tightness and tingles in the lips and mouth. If you tap your left cheek, does it get worse? Also do your fingers curl up when you have your bp checked?
Your symptoms describe something i have, called hypoparathyroidism. It makes your calcium and vit d levels low. It may just be a calcium defiency and not the same as mine but please get your bloodwork done to check it.
All the best xx
