Don't know of any dr's in the dallas or TX area...but check out Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL. I had a vp shunt performed by Dr Wharen, he's board certified and excellent! Great doc, he listens, actually LISTENS to what's going on with you!
Hi...drs that also treat chiari treat this condition as well....the chiari forum here on MedHelp does have a list of drs that the members have been to and liked....u may want to take a look at the list and do some research. We do have a couple in TX on the list.
Good luck

I was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus and have had a shunt since I was 18 months old I am not 33 and it has been very difficult. Once a shunt is placed, it is virtually impossible to monitor if it is still working. I have had to have many revisions, I am no long a candidate for shunt revision. When my shunt gets blocked icp builds up in my brain and I have to have lumbar punctures to relieve the pressure. I have a friend with a 13 year old daughter who was diagnosed with pseudo tumor cerebri, a neuro ophthalmologist did a procedure called Optic nerve sheath fenestration and she has not had any more headaches or needed any more lumbar punctures, please go to the website below and read more about this procedure. It is not indicated to be a curative but in her case it was.
