recovery from brain surgery

one of my friends had surgery on Monday to remove a golfball sized tumor, it is now wed Night...and he still hasn't woken up yet, he doesn't respond to verbal commands such as squeeze my hand or try to open your eyes.... he will have a reaction to pinching and sternum rubs, but I am getting concerned because everything I am reading says he should have at least come out of it for a little bit..... lease help, I am trying to be rational but I am getting worried
so my question is is this normal???

Normal or not, who knows, people have come thru comas etc  Think positive and say prayers. Talk to him anyways, people  who don't respond often can hear and absorb  some things.  I'll say a prayer. Cher 23
