right side head tenderness and pain

For a couple of weeks I have been having tenderness in the right side of my head from the base of the skull behind my ear and running in a C shape up to my temple.  At times I will get a sharp pain there behind my ear or in my temple that can stop me in my tracs for a couple of seconds.  What could be causing this?

Hello Dear,
Your headache could be due to several causes such as migraine, hypertension, cervical spondylosis, stress, anxiety. What is your age?You should see a neurosurgeon and get the cause evaluated. You can take some NSAID to releive the pain.
