hi all.does anybody know any info on sleep apnoea and saturation levels dropping whilst asleep thanks

hi,my daughter has had numerous sleep studies over the last 7 yrs..her sat levels are dropping..we have an appointment next week to discuss a mask for her to use whilst sleeping but she has to stay in hospital over a few nights to make sure she has the right level of air pressure whilst she is asleep...that is where we are up to right now...and have even been told it may not work..i go in her bedroom all the time to nudge her and make sure she ok...its her muscle disease that is the problem,its a centronuclear myopathy which i know you wont of heard of,,im scared xxx

hi hun,we got appointment on the 19th in aintree hospital.liverpool..to determine just about getting my daughter to either stay in hospital for a few days or come in every day for 7 for a couple of hours to see what kind of help she needs....im really quite scared as he sat levels are very low..xx

Hi Lisa:

My husband has sleep apnea, which means he stops breathing for a period of time and the sat. levels drop naturally due to no exchange of air in the lungs.  Simple solution was the CPAP.  He's been using one for 15 years now and there is no more snoring or sleep apnea.  Sounds like you had a sleep study done?

  Hi Lisa...those of us with Chiari r prone to have sleep apnea.....have u been to a sleep clinic ? Had ur oxygenation levels checked?

  There is a way to have this all done in ur own home,....check out NovaSom

I can not tell u what the levels should be, only that u will find a few on the chiari forum that do use the C- Pap....they may have more info to share.
