thumb and index f. tingling post-op shulder

8 weeks ago I had arthroscopic shoulder surgery - subacromial decompression and manipulation for frozen shoulder. I have been ungoing physical therapy - range of motion has recovered well but I still have sharp pain at ends of flexion and external rotation. One week ago I started ibuprophen 800 BID and had no PT sessions last week. Six days ago, I started having sharp pains in the shoulder and scapula (no prior history of pain in scapula). Then I started getting pain and tingling in my thumb and index finger. No pain or symptoms in middle, right or little fingers. Scapular pain is near spine and slightly up toward neck. Also some pain deep in the elbow. I'm going to try to get into my Othro. Surgeon first thing next week, but sure could use some advice on the urgency and likely causes of this problem in the meantime.

Hi Shawn,
Your symptoms suggest radial nerve impingement. Along with this if you have Scapular pain then probably it would mean C7 nerve root is impinged.
I think you should consult him on phone and later on you can meet him regarding this.

Hi,
The symptoms of tingling and pain sensation in the thumb and the index finger suggest some pathology of the median nerve. If your movements of the thumb and index are not affected, then the lesion should be at the distal forearm level.  The radial nerve provides sensation over the dorsum of the hand. (Thumb web space)
This requires a consultation with the orthopedic surgeon.
