topical anesthetic

Im a 23 year old male and bout 7 weeks ago, I used some benzocaine on a couple of occasion and ever since then, I've felt like my whole body has a loss of sensation. My teeth used to be very sensitive to hot and cold temps, now i can actually chew ice. Its very weird. I noticed that my skin has turned pale, which is slowly improving, and that cuts and scraps on my body will barely bleed.  I really don't know what is going on but it seems to be something systemic. I haven't had any of the typical signs of an allergic reaction, just this prolong numbness.  My doctor didn't have a clue what was going on.  I had blood work done and, the results didn't show anything unusual.  Do you have any clue what this might be? Do you know of any treatment for this?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
Benzocaine is a medication which stops your body from sensing nerve signals.
The symptoms of prolonged numbness may be due to overuse of Benzocaine .The medication should not be used for longer than recommended. Your body may absorb too much of benzocaine if applied over a large area of the body, in case you apply heat to the affected area, or if you cover the area on which the benzocaine is applied. Please consult a neurologist for the symptomatic treatment. Taking Renerve capsules may help. Take a good diet rich in antioxidants- vitamins A, E and C, and Omega 3 fatty acids. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
